The ever-likeable Simon Pegg (Graeme) and Nick Frost (Clive) team up for their third feature outing since Spaced to revel in this Sci-fi cross-US male-bonding roadtrip.

It sees them picking up some unusual passengers including Paul (an alien voiced by Judd Atapow regular Seth Rogen Ruth Biggs, Kristen Wiig as a Christian fundamentalist who gets her eyes opened in more ways than one.

On their tail are numerous unwanted characters including Jason Bateman (currently working on the long-anticipated Arrested Development film).

Edgar Wright is absent from the director’s chair and I did miss his unique pop-directing style which was honed on the seminal TV series Spaced and stamped all over Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Greg Mottola (Superbad) does a good job and produces a comedy which is in fact way above a lot of the comedies being churned out of the Hollywood machine at the mo (see Hall Pass and The Hangover Part II for more details).

An enjoyable film which makes the most of the great natural chemistry between Pegg and Frost.
