Aardman Films | 3 of the Best

With Early Man not due to hit cinemas until 2018, but the teaser trailer already doing the rounds, what a great time to revisit three of our favourites from Aardman’s back catalogue.

Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015)

The first big screen leading role for CBBC star Shaun was a revelation. What could have been the damp squib that was Postman Pat : The Movie (2014), is a joyful ode to ‘silent’ film. Proving that less is more and that Aardman have a ‘direct link to our funny bone’. Add to that, a great soundtrack which features an unexpected but perfectly chosen Foo Fighters’ ‘Home’.

The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)

Wallace and Gromit’s first feature-length outing proved they could make the jump from Oscar-winning shorts to the big screen. With great supporting characters and more cute bunnies than you can shake a carrot at, this is an irresistible treat from our favourite claymation duo.

The Wrong Trousers (1993)

It’s hard to believe that this family-favourite is 24 years old. As the follow-up excursion to Wallace and Gromit’s A Grand Day Out (1989) expectations were – naturally – high. We shouldn’t have worried. The Wrong Trousers is 30 minutes of joy, jam-packed with film noir references and the best train chase committed to film.

Add these three films to your collection and enjoy every delicious visual pun they have to offer.
